International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, will on Tuesday, 6 February 2018, deliver the closing remarks at the First Meeting of the BRICS Sherpas/Sous-Sherpas, which is underway in Cape Town.

This is the  first official meeting on the BRICS calendar under the auspices of South Africa as Chair of the five-nation bloc. The meeting is discussing the working arrangements for BRICS in 2018. South Africa, as the host country for the BRICS 2018 Summit, is making use the opportunity to present its priorities as Chair to the other members of the group.  
South Africa will host the 10th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg in July 2018.
